Dr. Julia Ma and Dr. Jeffrey Gressard share a philosophy of compassionate, minimally invasive dentistry that helps patients achieve lasting, naturally beautiful smiles. For more than 42 years, our practice has been proud to serve the Millbrae community and surrounding areas. Julia Ma, DDS, FAGD

A native of San Francisco and an alumna of Lowell High School, Dr. Julia Ma completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), graduating magna cum laude. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and completed advanced training in implant and restorative dentistry through the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program at NYU Langone Dental Medicine, UCSF site.

Dr. Ma is passionate about providing gentle, high-quality dental care and helping patients feel comfortable and confident about their smiles. She has published research in international dental journals and developed oral health programs for children overseas through UCSF's Global Oral Health Program fellowship. Locally, she enjoys giving presentations and leading oral health discussions at UCSF, community events, and elementary schools.

Currently, Dr. Ma serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at the UCSF School of Dentistry. She is dedicated to lifelong learning and was honored with the Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2021. She is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Outside the office, Dr. Ma loves spending time with her three children and exploring new hiking trails and food adventures wherever her travels take her.

Jeffrey Gressard, DDS

Dr. Jeffrey Gressard was born in Kent, Ohio, and moved to Phoenix, Arizona, before his family settled in Southern California. He attended the University of California, Riverside, where he majored in Biological Sciences and played football as a linebacker. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

After dental school, Dr. Gressard proudly served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Public Health Service, completing his hospital residency in Galveston, Texas, and then continuing his service in Miami, Florida. He returned to San Francisco in 1980, where he practiced in two offices before taking over the practice of Dr. Melvin Frank in 1983.

Dedicated to continuing education and patient care, Dr. Gressard completed advanced training in temporomandibular disorders (TMD) with Dr. Chuck McNeil, focusing on jaw function and comfort. He was also one of the early adopters of the PerioLase laser, using advanced technology to improve gum health and patient outcomes.

Dr. Gressard has been married for many years and loves spending time with his three grown children and four grandchildren. Outside the office, he enjoys staying active, following sports, and exploring the outdoors. After nearly four decades of dedicated service to his community, Dr. Julia Ma now continues Dr. Gressard’s legacy of compassionate, high-quality dental care. Dr. Gressard continues to enjoy caring for patients part-time.
